Ontario Craft Beer week opening party
Beer tastings in Steam Whistle
As usual at the begin of the summer there is a beer week in Ontario. So I decided to visit opening party. Organizers promised unlimited samples, live music and nice atmosphere. Event host is Steam Whistle so I should attend. Tickets 25$ per person was bought ahead. By itself event was great but could be better. A lot of brewery representatives was there.
My first disappointment was tap beer. I was expecting to drink tap beer, not bottles or cans. I can buy different beers in cans by myself. Me and my friends tried around 20 beers. My top 3 is: Trafalgar Mighty Oak, Black Oak 10 Bitter Years and Macleans Old Angus. Actually I opened new brewery Macleans what I never saw before. I will visit their brewery in one of my future trips. Also there was only one collaboration beer on tap.. What I really don't like..
Features and conclusion
On site there was educational brew. Some cheese snacks and live music by dj. Free raffle. Sitting and drinking beer with CN tower view is amazing by itself. But event could be much much better with tap beer. For me cans and bottles does not worth attending this event. I don't sure if I will go next year.
